Comcast, in its layoff notice to Washington's Employment Security Department (29 October 2026, signed by Senior Vice President Tuck Rainwater): "Comcast is fundamentally redesigning our organization to build a more agile company and better serve our customers. These changes will help us accelerate innovation and compete more effectively in a rapidly changing industry." ... "These organizational changes will result in the permanent layoff of approximately 159 employees located virtually and at Comcast's regional offices in Washington". On the third-quarter earnings call (22 October 2026) chief financial officer Jason Armstrong listed "First, we are fundamentally redesigning our organization" and, as a separate priority, "Second, we're accelerating our technology transformation, product innovation, and AI adoption." TechSpot headlined its report on the planned cuts "Comcast lost 144,000 broadband customers last quarter, is planning layoffs so AI agents can take over customer service".
