Not collected: Big Local News at Stanford University has collected no notice from Florida since Aug 17, 2026, Texas since Jul 8, 2026, Georgia since Sep 17, 2026 or Hawaii since Aug 9, 2026, far longer than each usually goes without one, so their newest notices are on each state's own WARN page, linked from its page here.
Notices from 43 states and Washington DC, as each state publishes them, collected several times a day by Big Local News at Stanford University and copied here daily. A few states publish no list that can be collected, so their notices are not here; a state can also publish a notice days after the employer filed it.

Frequently asked
What is a WARN notice?
A WARN notice is the written warning the federal Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) Act requires before a plant closing or a mass layoff: most employers with 100 or more employees must give 60 days' notice, generally when 50 or more workers lose their jobs at one site. The notice goes to the workers, their union and the state, which publishes it. Several states, among them California, New York and New Jersey, have their own WARN laws that reach smaller layoffs or ask for more notice.
Which states publish the most WARN notices?
In the last 30 days: California 83, Washington 19, Maryland 12, New York 11, New Jersey 10. The table above has every state, each linked to its own page.
Do these layoffs have anything to do with AI?
A WARN notice does not say why the jobs are going, so these pages never say whether AI was involved. Where an employer itself linked a cut to AI, or credible reporting did, its company page in the register says so, with the source.
