Was it AI?
No layoff at Essendant linked to AI is recorded in the register. A WARN notice gives no reason for the cut, so the filings on their own say nothing about AI; if Essendant or credible reporting ties a cut to AI, it enters the register and this page says so.

WARN notices filed by Essendant
A WARN notice is the advance warning a US employer must file with a state before a mass layoff or a site closure, usually 60 days ahead. It names the site and the number of jobs but gives no reason, so on its own it says nothing about AI.
