Humana layoffs and AI

Not according to Humana. It named no AI reason for its October 2026 cut, citing greater organisational efficiency, better meeting the needs of its business and creating more value for its members and patients. No credible outlet or named analyst linked the cut to AI, so it is not in the register of AI-linked job cuts.

Humana is eliminating some jobs while creating others, across different functions and locations; it said it could not disclose how many roles, which departments or when. It was announced in October 2026. Humana did not give a number.

Humana cited greater organisational efficiency, better meeting the needs of its business and creating more value for its members and patients. In its own words: "As we make these changes, some roles are eliminated while new roles and opportunities are created in areas that support our future direction. These adjustments are occurring across different functions and locations." (Humana, in a statement to Becker's Payer Issues).
